Our Passion Is PerformanceEST. 2010
The Los Angeles Academy of Performing Arts (LAAPA) offers theatre arts training to youth ages 4-18. Our classes, performance camps, and workshops are taught by leading professionals in the world of performing arts.
LAAPA was founded on the philosophy that training in the arts means more than just becoming a skilled performer. The arts are about transformation, both personally and within our communities. The arts allow us to explore the depths of our imaginations, express our creativity, develop an understanding of cultures and ideas that are foreign to us, and hold up a mirror to ourselves and the world around us that reflects the joy and the struggles of the human condition.
At LAAPA, we believe that nurturing all areas of the performing arts is important to each student’s development as an artist and a person; therefore we take an interdisciplinary approach to our training. Students will be exposed to a curriculum that ranges from classical theatre to musical theatre, all the while learning the important life skills required to work successfully within a group environment.
The Los Angeles Academy of Performing Arts is committed to including people from all social, cultural, political, and economic backgrounds, and to helping our students emerge as leaders in the performing arts and beyond.
