Thomas Shepard – Musical Director

Voice teacher/vocal coach Thomas Shepard is a transplant to Los Angeles from New York City where he lived and worked as a professional performer, director, and singing teacher for 28 years. Among his long-standing professional teaching associations are scholastic institutions such at New York University-where he taught for 18 years, Columbia University, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and The American Musical and Dramatic Academy NYC and Los Angeles. He teaches singing and performing skills in his own private studios in Los Angeles as well as in Las Vegas.

His work with young people (5-teenage) has been recognized by major training institutions such as: Disney’s The Lion King Broadway Master Classes, Summer Camp at CAP21 for NYU, and the Summer Theatre Institute at Columbia University, among others.

He holds a Bachelors of Music Degree in Music Education and Masters Degrees in Opera and Musical Theatre from Southern Illinois University where he coached with world renowned opera star Marjorie Lawrence.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the LA Opera League.
